What does grief look like

What does grief look like.

It looks like lots of reasonable arguments
for why it’s here.

So we settle.
We oblige.
We see the sense
because it makes sense.

Sense as a cold gush down the back of arms.

A heavy feeling slumping over the shoulders
when you remember.
A tingling at the back of the throat.
Air pressing to pass through the neck
like it expanded overnight.
A subtle dizzy spell
when coming to terms
by force, not consent.
